Just when we thought global warming had permanently changed the climate in the NYC metropolitan area, a big storm hits. Even though this storm is being touted as the second biggest storm on record to hit the city, in my neighborhood, it’s not too bad. I picked up four cans of soup, a small bag of english crisps, two cups of coffee and a coffee roll this morning. It certainly was windy, but seriously Mother Nature, is this all you got?
For those of you in sun-plagued places, this is what 16-24″ of snow does to your street:
The cold didn’t seem to stop the dogs at the park from making yellow snow.
These two guys were leashed together. The bigger dog called the shots…such is life.
50mph winds aside, I actually enjoy these acts of nature that occasionally affect the city. The relative quiet and shared pain-in-the-ass of it all makes for a nice community bond, if only for a day. Of course, I don’t have to shovel all of this mess like this guy off in the distance:
