going perpedicular - schoolhouse rock steelo
Published by ken July 2nd, 2006 in wakaranaiTom’s Hardware is running a piece on the latest 750GB Seagate drives using a new perpendicular storage technique. I’m always game for more storage. Ever since I was a wee pup with only 20MB, I’ve known you can never have enough storage. Now, if you’re Hitachi, you might publish a white paper and explain away the cooler-than-Fonzi physics behind this barrier-busting tech (1TB drives = love). Or, you might just make a Schoolhouse Rock rip-off homage to explain the subtle evolution of the magnetic medium and the superparamagnetic effect.
After watching the Flash flick in it’s entirety, I think what I like most (dislike least?) is the fact that someone actually had to write and sing a rendition of Dancing Queen entirely about increasing capacity and writing bits and bytes up and down instead of sideways.
